Tricia Halloran, Castle Music Supervisor:

It has been a great thrill to start music supervising Castle this season. While they were still writing the first scripts for Season Two, I sat down with Exec Producers Andrew Marlowe and Rob Berman and talked about the music palette for the season. Because we follow Dancing With The Stars, we always want to start with a strong song that can keep the audience engaged, yet also has that uniquely quirky Castle feel. So we stockpiled a lot of those crossover songs. Then there are the sweet moments between the family members in Castle's loft, those require a lighter touch, and need to play well under the dialog. And also we look for songs that can transition the characters and the show across the city.

As soon as we get a new script, my associate Susan Dolan and I go through it and spot scenes that we think will require music, and create a plan based on the episode music budget. Then we pull 3-4 choices for each music spot, and send those over to the editors Marta Evry, Warren Bowman and Jeff Freeman, who fortunately have great taste in music! They pick their favorites as they are editing the show, and then Andrew, Rob, and each show's director all get a chance to comment as well. Some of my favorites that you'll hear in the first few episodes are Junior Senior "Can I Get Get Get", Sloan "Who Taught You To Live Like That", and Actionslacks "We Are Not The Losers Anymore".
